Privacy policy
This policy explains how the Hermes Personal Inbox and Property Monitor Drive Sync applications access, use, store, and protect Google user data.
Applications covered
This policy covers two personal-use applications operated by Daniel Fredrickson:
- Hermes Personal Inbox, a Gmail read-only property-alert collector.
- Property Monitor Drive Sync, a file-limited Google Drive snapshot publisher.
Data accessed
Hermes Personal Inbox can read Gmail messages and metadata in the account that grants authorization. Property Monitor Drive Sync can create and manage Drive files it creates or that are explicitly opened with it.
The applications do not request permission to send email, delete email, or access unrelated Drive files.
Purpose and use
Gmail data is used to identify property-listing alerts and update a private property-monitoring database. Drive access is used to publish database snapshots and checksum manifests for validated, read-only synchronization.
Google user data is not used for advertising, sold, rented, or shared with unrelated third parties. The applications' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and security
OAuth client credentials and authorization tokens are stored in private, access-controlled locations separate from public source-code repositories. Derived property data is retained in a private database and in application-specific snapshot files. Reasonable technical controls are used to restrict access and prevent credentials from appearing in logs or public files.
Retention and deletion
Property observations may be retained to support historical analysis. Raw Google data is retained only when needed for the stated property-monitoring purpose. The account owner may revoke OAuth access at any time and may request deletion of retained Google-derived data.
Revoking access
Authorization can be revoked from the Google Account third-party connections page. Revocation prevents future API access but does not automatically remove data previously retained for the purposes described above.
